Shard Math Guide
The Japan chapter gave a total of 600 shards for free-to-play if all trivia stages were completed. The Netherlands chapter will give 550 shards, including 250 shards from the Daily Match. In total, you can collect 1,150 shards after finishing both chapters.
With 1,150 shards:
- Rijkaard (115 OVR, 1,000 shards) is fully claimable for f2p, leaving 150 shards to save for the next Nation.
- Van Dijk (114 OVR, 1,200 shards) is very close. Free-to-play players will be 50 shards short, so he is possible only with extra shards from paid sources or from future Nations.
Other strong choices are available too:
- Koeman (115 OVR, 800 shards) or Sneijder (115 OVR, 800 shards) are easy to claim, which leaves 350 shards for another pick such as Depay (113 OVR, 300 shards) or Malen (113 OVR, 300 shards).
Getting more lower-OVR players is an option, but choosing a 115 OVR card first is usually the best value because they stay useful in the squad longer.

I actually spent all the 600 tokens from japan on low ovr players from japan’s gallery sector and I will take the 300 shards. So I will only have 300 and I really want Dumfries 113 ovr for my RB in 116 ovr team so will there be packages? I mean there aren’t any packages so will they add? And if they aren’t going to do can you pls tell them or suggest to add packages as I don’t ever buy fc point, and thank you!

I didn’t spend the previous “A Nations Story” shards I got from the Japan chapter.
600 Shards still in the bag, I’m getting Malen (RW) & Timber (RB) for sure.
Great! But why not go for Sneijder or Koeman instead of Malen and Timber? A 115 OVR player will stay in your team much longer than a couple of 112 OVR cards. You can also compare their market prices. On average, you can buy two 112 OVR cards for around 1–2 billion, while a 115 OVR usually costs more than 4 billion.
Why you wont give us fc points for free?
I bought Doan in JPN Event, and I won’t ever regret cz he’s been so good (i was 112 ovr then).
Now I have 150 from prev and 550 from this, i wanted van dijk at least, dyk what’s going to be the next nation, if it’s good i might save the entirety for it or buy van nistelrooy(is he better than haaland or sesko?)

It’s your decision wether you want to wait or spend now. There’s no any information about the next nation yet, my prediction is next month.
I’m a f2p user, with my current team OVR of 115 Malen (112) & Timber (112) is a good addition to my lineup.
I bought Memphis Depay (113) & Kluivert (111) too, I will save the other Shards I get from this chapter for the next chapter.
I’m f2p too and my team is 120 OVR right now. Just remember that TOTY is coming next month, and the OVR will most likely jump again to 117. When that happens, your 111–112 OVR players will hold your team back. If you want to progress faster, my suggestion is try to aim for the highest OVR players you can get.
My alt account, which I only play 1–2 times a week, is already 117 OVR because I’m very picky with the players I claim. I don’t waste Rank Up points on players that will only stay a few weeks in the squad.
I need a CB (112) & LM (112) to consolidate my team OVR at 116 or 117. After I do that, I will start picking the highest players from the gallery sections of the new events.
That would probably mean I get a single player from each event.
