In EA Sports FC Mobile 26, the Center Back (CB) is one of the most vital positions after the goalkeeper. Choosing the wrong defender can quickly expose your backline and lead to unnecessary goals.
A good center-back must excel in both physical and tactical areas. Key attributes include Marking, Interceptions, Aggression, Standing Tackle, Sliding Tackle, Heading, and Strength. These determine how well a CB tracks runs, wins duels, and blocks shots.
Height also plays a major role. Taller defenders tend to dominate aerial battles and are especially effective when defending corners or long balls. Pairing them with a slightly faster partner helps maintain balance between physical presence and recovery pace.
The current meta favors center-backs with a Low/High work rate, staying deep to protect the goal while maintaining strong defensive awareness. CBs with medium or high attacking work rates can be too aggressive, often stepping out of position and leaving gaps behind. To handle this, many players pair an aggressive CB with a more conservative “cover” type defender for better stability.
When it comes to traits, Dives Into Tackles and Power Header are the most useful. The first helps in winning ground duels effectively, while the latter gives an edge during corners and aerial challenges.

IMO after using both for a bit now id say personally Chiellini should be over Lucio. Both clear of the pack right now until the utoty drops. The only reason I feel that way is Chiellini is so fast from the jump he can hang with or run down basically anybody. Lucio feels stronger, probably faster over distance but can feel sluggish at first compared to Chiellini.
I’m using both as well. On paper, Chiellini is clearly ahead of Lucio, but in actual gameplay I feel more comfortable manually defending with Lucio. I’m not sure if it’s the player itself or simply because I’m using Chiellini at LCB and Lucio at RCB. I’ve always been more comfortable defending on the right side than the left.
After reading your review, I’ll try swapping their positions and see if that makes a difference.
I got free saliba from pack. Is it worth to exchange him and claim Vidic. Or should I just use him and purchase another 115 player like George Best.

I have Lucio 120(+5), normal cheillini 120(+5) and kompany 118(+4) which two CB are good for my team bez all three Cbs are very aggressive.

Faster, and his height is ideal to dash compared to Van Dijk who accelerate quite slow.
Btw this game never really explored the special defensive trio of Buffon, Cannavaro and Thuram in the early dominance of Juve in Serie A.
They were the original invincibles in defence.

Is Koeman 115 not good? His stats are higher than VVD 114 also.
His overall stats are higher, but his defending and physical stats are not. Even Barzagli has better defending and physicality than him.
Koeman is an example of an offensive CB.
Tactically, this can work if u have 4 defenders with at least 1 defensive CDM but if opponent playing fast counter attacks, this is quite dangerous as missing 1 fella vs 3~4 attacking players with speed/good dribbling from the opposite side.

I think 2nd anniversary Puyol deserve spot.. usually I play whit 2 CB w/ 2 L&RB .. the duo STAM – PUYOL it’s brutal , aside H2H , in Manager and Attack both of them do some serious stuff .. I think Puyol preform better then banc , saliba and possibly Barzagli!!

The new Stam card is too good, I have him in my team. He has to be top 5 cb in the game right now.
I prefer VVD just a bit to Maldini because of the height. Stamina hasnt been an issue with this VVD, maybe way late but no noticeable drop in performance.
